A visit to the Conserveira do Arade artisanal canned fish factory offers an authentic experience in the Algarve, combining artisanal production and tasting.

Discover the production process of our artisanal canned fish.

Come and learn more about our art, the region’s canning heritage, and enjoy a tasting of our products. This is an immersive experience inside a working artisanal fish canning factory, featuring Portuguese canned fish, sardines, and other fish.

During the visit, you will have the opportunity to follow each stage of production, with explanations of every process and the chance to interact with our team. At the end of the tour, guests can enjoy a tasting of Saboreal and Papa Anzóis canned fish.

Visit Details:

• Reservations: Booking is mandatory. Visits are subject to availability and must be pre-booked; 
• Timetable: Visits available Monday to Friday, preferably time slots at 9:30 AM or 10:30 AM. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays; 
• Duration: 50 to 60 minutes;
• Languages: Portuguese, English, French and Italian;
• Participants: Minimum of 2 participants;
• Groups: Group bookings are welcome. Please contact us for more details;
• Cancellations: Must be made at least 24 hours in advance;

NOTES: We would like to highlight that the visit takes place in a real working factory, where activities and processes vary on a daily basis depending on numerous factors: the production team's planning, sea conditions, the arrival of ingredients, logistical needs and hygiene and food safety requirements. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that there will be visible fish being handled and processed on every visit. Even so, we like to share and show our processes to those who visit us, as visually as possible.

How to get here:

From Portimão:
• Cross the Portimão Bridge (Arade River) and continue towards Parchal.
• Pass "Staples" and "Lidl" shops and continue straight until you reach a large pharmacy.
• After the pharmacy, turn right to enter the industrial area.
• Continue straight for about 400 meters, and you will find our Cannery "Conserveira do Arade" and our shop "Mercearia do Algarve" on your left.

From N125 – Mexilhoeira da Carregação side:
• On the N125, reach the roundabout with "Mexilhoeira da Carregação" on the right and "O Calvário" on the left. Continue straight towards Parchal.
• At the next roundabout, go all the way around to turn back in the opposite direction.
• Continue straight until you reach a large pharmacy.
• After the pharmacy, turn right to enter the industrial area.
• Continue straight for about 400 meters, and you will find our Cannery of artisanal canned fish "Conserveira do Arade" and our  shop "Mercearia do Algarve" on your left.
